Angie’s List has reviews of many HVAC contractors in the Los Angeles area, but only a select few are good enough to receive the Super Service Award. The criteria for achieving this award is quite strict and only five percent of companies meet the requirements.
The eligibility requirements for receiving the Angie’s List Super Service Award include:
- Obtaining a minimum number of annual reports from customers
- Maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for all reports
- Having a three-year grade point average of 3.5
- Remaining in good standing with the website
In the heating and cooling industry, superior service is important for keeping utility costs low and maintaining ideal levels of home comfort. You want to hire a contractor that has a proven record of success and has been recognized for their expert training and industry leadership. In addition to the Angie’s List Super Service Award, look for companies with the following memberships or certifications:
- NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification
- Air Conditioning Contractors of America
- The local Better Business Bureau
- The local Chamber of Commerce
- Local and state homeowner’s associations
All of these recognitions, in addition to the Super Service Award, indicate that your HVAC contractor will be reliable, trustworthy and well-trained in the industry. You can expect your technician to arrive on time, provide an accurate quote, and perform the service or installation expertly and efficiently. You can also expect them to leave your home clean and tidy, with as little inconvenience to you as possible.
Good HVAC service is not just about good maintenance and installation. You want a technician that will be drug-free, courteous and prepared to answer any questions you might have. Next time you hire an HVAC contractor check their status on Angie’s List to see how they compare.
