You might think you’re safe from pollutants inside your Los Angeles home, but the reality is that microorganisms are always lurking around. Putting a stop to them isn’t so hard, especially with the use of UV lights installed within your home’s HVAC system. Keep the bulbs going strong and you and your family will be able to breathe easily with minimal effort on your part.
Installation of a UV Light System
UV lights will help keep the air of your home clear of the majority of microorganisms floating around. Installation will need to be completed by a technician within your home’s HVAC system. You can choose to have the lights either treat the air that is distributed throughout your home or the components of the system itself, preventing the accumulation of mold and mildew from moisture within the unit.
Improving Your Home’s Air Quality
By using UV lights to clean your Los Angeles area home’s air, its overall air quality will quickly improve. These high-intensity lights break down the molecular structure of organic pollutants such as the aforementioned mold and mildew, plus others like viruses, bacteria and germs. By eliminating these elements from your home’s air, you won’t have to worry about them causing respiratory issues, or irritating existing ailments like allergies and asthma.
Scheduling Their Replacement
The longevity of the UV lights that you’ve installed will depend on where you have placed them. If they’re being used to destroy microorganisms that are brought through your ductwork, replacement needs to be done once a year. If, however, they are being used to keep your system’s components clean, you can stretch that to two years, which is their maximum life span. Just be sure you don’t let the lights go for more than three years. Doing so can actually cause damage to the UV light system itself.
